Placements24 is partnering with a leading research and development team in Nelspruit to recruit a Senior Biomedical Engineer. You will lead design, testing, and implementation of innovative medical devices, working with clinicians and regulatory affairs to ensure safety and compliance.

Candidates bring a PhD or Master’s in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, 7+ years in medical device development, and proven R&D leadership from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive biomedical engineering experience, focused on medical device design and development.
• Experience leading R&D projects from concept to commercialization.
• Strong knowledge of medical device regulations and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new biomedical devices and healthcare technologies.
• Conduct research and feasibility studies for innovative medical device concepts.
• Develop prototypes and perform rigorous testing to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
• Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and regulatory affairs specialists.
• Ensure designs comply with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
