Camunda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at the core of Camunda 8. You’ll experiment, break things safely, and strengthen the platform before customers feel the impact, guiding product direction with curiosity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering (Java) experience.
• Proven drive to experiment and conduct automated reliability and chaos testing in distributed environments.
• Deep enthusiasm for improving performance and fault-tolerance in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests.
• Investigate root-causes and debug failures or performance regressions in Java-based products.
• Improve load testing, chaos engineering, and observability infrastructure.
• Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to share learnings and influence roadmaps.
• Champion pragmatic, autonomous software design and leverage Kubernetes, Helm, Grafana, Java, and Go.
