Placements24 in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, seeks a Senior Avionics Systems Integrator to lead the seamless integration of complex avionics into aircraft platforms. You will work with design engineers, software developers, and flight test personnel to ensure successful implementation and validation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering and at least 6 years' avionics integration experience, with proficiency in ARINC 429/664, MIL-STD-1553, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in avionics systems integration on aircraft platforms.
• Proven experience with avionics systems (GPS, FMS, Autopilots, Radios, Transponders).
• Strong understanding of ARINC protocols (429, 664), MIL-STD-1553, and other industry standards.
• Experience with systems engineering principles and tools (DOORS).
• Familiarity with flight testing and aircraft certification processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of avionics systems into aircraft platforms.
• Develop integration plans, test procedures, and validation strategies.
• Collaborate with hardware/software engineers to define interfaces.
• Oversee system testing and troubleshooting on bench and in-flight.
• Ensure compliance with SACAA, EASA, FAA standards.
• Analyze performance data and propose design modifications.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefings for teams.
• Mentor junior engineers on integration challenges.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve avionics issues.
• Contribute to process and tool improvements.
