Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on automotive components to join our Randburg team. The role covers design, development, and validation across the product lifecycle, contributing to innovative, durable solutions for performance and safety.

You will lead analysis, CAD modeling, documentation, and collaboration with manufacturing to ensure successful mass production, while staying current with industry trends and new materials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical design with automotive focus.
• Experience in powertrain, chassis, or thermal management systems.
• Proficiency in CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS; knowledge of DFM/DFA.
• Familiar with IATF 16949 and APQP processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex automotive mechanical components.
• Perform FEA/CFD to validate designs and durability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and testing for mass production.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and test reports.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and materials.
