Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our client in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will lead design projects for automotive components, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 6+ years in automotive design, and expert proficiency with CATIA/SolidWorks and simulation tools. You will drive DFM, oversee prototyping, testing, and design revisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in mechanical design with automotive focus.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA/SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, materials, manufacturing, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of automotive components from concept to production release.
• Use CAD to model, surface, and assemble parts.
• Perform FEA/CFD and tolerance analysis to ensure performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with manufacturing for DFMs.
