Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our automotive division in Mossel Bay. You will design automotive components using 3D CAD tools, run CAE simulations, and collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3–5 years of experience in mechanical design with automotive focus.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA/SolidWorks) and CAE tools.
Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automotive components and sub-systems using 3D CAD software.
Conduct stress, thermal, and vibration simulations to ensure performance and integrity.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for production.
Create detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs for production.
Participate in prototype testing and provide design iteration feedback.
Stay current with automotive trends, materials, and technologies.
