Placements24 seeks an Automotive Software Development Engineer in Pretoria, Gauteng to design and implement embedded software for automotive control units, including infotainment, ADAS, and vehicle safety features.

You will work with hardware and systems engineers, using C/C++, RTOS, and automotive protocols, participating in tests and reviews, in a hybrid work setting within a fast-paced technology division.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of embedded software development experience in automotive.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded environments.
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, QNX, or similar.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, UDS, and DoIP protocols.
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Experience with debugging tools for embedded systems.
• Git version control experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR is a plus.
• Legal right to work in South Africa.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive control units.
• Write clean, efficient C/C++ code for real-time embedded systems.
• Collaborate with system architects and hardware engineers to define software requirements.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and system tests.
• Debug and resolve defects identified during development and testing.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Work with CAN/LIN/UDS/DoIP and other automotive communications.
• Support software integration onto target hardware and assist in validation.
