Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics or embedded software for automotive.
• Deep knowledge of CAN, UDS, and OBD-II.
• Experience with diagnostic tool development or utilization.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Understanding of automotive electrical architectures and ECUs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work independently in Sandton.

Responsibilities

• Define diagnostic requirements for new automotive systems and features based on market needs and regulatory compliance.
• Design, develop, and test diagnostic software modules and diagnostic services according to industry standards (e.g., UDS on CAN/Ethernet, OBD-II).
• Develop and implement diagnostic test cases for various vehicle ECUs and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to ensure integrated diagnostic solutions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and measurement equipment for debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of diagnostic functions.
• Support vehicle integration and testing activities, providing expertise in diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Analyze diagnostic data and failure reports to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive diagnostics technologies and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in the field of automotive diagnostics.
• Document diagnostic specifications, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
