Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Design Engineer for a fully remote role. You will conceptualize, design, and develop advanced automotive components using CAD and simulation tools, delivering aesthetically and functionally superior vehicle systems.
You will collaborate with a global team, mentor junior designers, and stay ahead of industry trends while ensuring designs meet manufacturability and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years in automotive design engineering.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and design for manufacturability.
- Experience with FEA/CFD for design validation.
- Strong portfolio of automotive design work.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative design concepts for automotive components and systems using advanced CAD software.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and design documentation.
- Perform design analysis, including FEA and CFD, to ensure performance and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs and meet requirements.
- Mentor junior designers and stay current with industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with aesthetics, functionality, and regulatory standards.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities.
- Present proposals to stakeholders and optimize designs for cost.
