Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role in automotive components. The candidate will design, analyze, and optimize parts from concept through production using advanced CAD and FEA tools.

You will collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with GD&T and IATF standards. Requires 6+ years in automotive design and proficiency in CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Abaqus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design, with automotive components or systems.
• Proficiency in CAD/FEA tools: CATIA V5, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Abaqus.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop mechanical components for automotive applications using advanced CAD software.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and assembly configurations.
• Perform FEA to assess stress, thermal, and dynamic behavior.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize designs for cost, quality, and efficiency.
• Work with R&D to implement new technologies and design innovations.
• Maintain technical documentation, specs, test plans, and BOMs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot design issues during testing or production.
