Qualifications

• ATC license with required ratings (Aerodrome/Approach/Area)
• 10+ years in ATC, 5+ in supervision or management
• Experience at a high-traffic international airport
• Knowledge of ICAO and SACAA regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Calm and effective under pressure
• Proficiency with modern ATC systems and radar displays
• Understanding of meteorology, navigation, and aviation safety principles
• Degree in Aviation Management or related field advantageous
• South African citizen or valid work permit for Cape Town

Responsibilities

• Oversee ATC operations ensuring regulatory compliance
• Train and mentor ATC team, fostering safety and professionalism
• Develop and implement ATC procedures to optimize capacity
• Monitor airspace and traffic flow, intervene to maintain safety
• Coordinate with pilots, airlines, airport authorities, and emergency services
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to ATC team
• Manage rostering and scheduling of controllers
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Stay updated on ATC technology and best practices
