Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Air Traffic Controller for a state-of-the-art facility in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on safe, efficient management and control of high-density air traffic, maintaining separation, issuing clearances, and coordinating with emergency services.

You will mentor junior controllers, contribute to procedural improvements, and operate advanced radar and comms systems.

Qualifications

• SACAA license required with 8+ years in ATC in a senior/supervisory capacity.
• Ability to manage complex, high-density airspace and maintain safety standards.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Control and direct air traffic per procedures and regulations.
• Ensure safe, orderly flow of traffic within assigned sectors.
• Issue clearances, advisories and information to pilots to maintain separation.
• Monitor weather and other factors affecting traffic.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with agencies as needed.
• Maintain constant communication with pilots and ATC units.
• Operate radar and communications systems.
• Mentor junior controllers and participate in performance reviews.
• Contribute to development of operational protocols.
• Adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
