Job summary
Cecile Personnel (Pty) Ltd is seeking a seasoned attorney to provide legal advice on PFMA, MFMA, contracts, governance and legislation. The role requires drafting, reviewing and vetting legal agreements and opinions, along with conducting in-depth legal research to deliver sound opinions.
The ideal candidate will identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide labour-law support when needed, while facilitating policy reviews and maintaining risk registers and records.
Qualifications
- LLB degree and admitted Attorney of the High Court.
- 5–10 years' post-admission experience.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation and legal vetting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of legal research, litigation processes and risk management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on PFMA, MFMA, contracts, governance and legislation.
- Draft, review and vet legal agreements and opinions.
- Conduct legal research and provide sound opinions.
- Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide legal support on labour-related matters when required.
- Facilitate policy reviews and ensure statutory compliance.
- Maintain legal risk registers and institutional records.
- Promote legal awareness by preparing guidance and information pieces.
