Job summary

Cecile Personnel (Pty) Ltd is seeking a seasoned attorney to provide legal advice on PFMA, MFMA, contracts, governance and legislation. The role requires drafting, reviewing and vetting legal agreements and opinions, along with conducting in-depth legal research to deliver sound opinions.

The ideal candidate will identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide labour-law support when needed, while facilitating policy reviews and maintaining risk registers and records.

Qualifications

• LLB degree and admitted Attorney of the High Court.
• 5–10 years' post-admission experience.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and legal vetting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of legal research, litigation processes and risk management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Job description

• Provide legal advice on matters relating to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), contracts, corporate governance, and legislation.


• Draft, review and vet legal agreements and opinions.


• Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions.


• Identify legal risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.


• Provide legal support on labour-related matters where required.


• Facilitate policy reviews and ensure statutory compliance.


• Maintain legal risk registers and institutional legal records.


• Promote legal awareness by preparing legal guidance and information-sharing articles.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB).


• Admitted Attorney of the High Court.
