Job summary

BDO South Africa is seeking an Associate Financial Planner to work with the Executive Director, Financial Planning, delivering comprehensive financial planning advice for a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.

You will operate in a co-financial planning capacity, providing technical depth, execution capability and continuity across the client relationships while supporting meetings and strategy development.

Qualifications

• CFP professional status.
• Appropriate financial planning qualification.
• Minimum five years of relevant financial planning experience.
• Experience with complex financial planning matters.
• Experience with high-net-worth client relationships.
• Strong technical financial planning knowledge and execution capability.
• Ability to understand client needs and implement advice.
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly between Pretoria and Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

• Co-financial planning and client advice.
• Assist alongside the Executive Director in managing a portfolio of complex client relationships.
• Attend client meetings as a co-financial planner.
• Translate client needs into financial planning strategies, recommendations and actions.
• Own delegated financial planning work from analysis to implementation.
• Provide technically robust planning support across client relationships.
• Apply knowledge of taxation as it relates to financial planning.
• Collaborate with paraplanning and client service teams to deliver results.
