Placements24 is seeking a Senior Asset Management Engineer to join our client’s energy sector team in Mahikeng, North West. You will lead asset management strategies, drive lifecycle cost analyses, risk assessments, and maintenance planning to maximize asset reliability.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to align asset objectives with business goals, implement asset management systems, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years in asset management or reliability within the energy sector.
• Experience developing asset management frameworks (ISO 55001).

About the Role

Our client, a significant entity within the South African energy sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Asset Management Engineer to join their dedicated team in Mahikeng, North West. This position is critical for ensuring the long-term reliability, performance, and economic viability of the company's energy assets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive asset management strategies, including risk assessment, maintenance planning, and lifecycle cost analysis. This role requires a proactive engineer with a deep understanding of asset performance, maintenance best practices, and strategic planning to optimize asset utilization and minimize operational risks. This is an on-site position, fostering close collaboration with operational teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic asset management plans for the company's portfolio of energy infrastructure.
• Conduct lifecycle cost analyses, risk assessments, and condition monitoring of critical assets.
• Optimize maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, corrective) to enhance asset reliability and availability.
• Develop and manage asset performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align asset management objectives with business goals.
• Oversee the implementation of asset management systems and databases.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, risk assessment methodologies, and maintenance strategies.
• Proficiency in utilizing asset management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
