Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Principal Application Engineer to act as a senior technical authority for complex power generation and renewable energy projects in Kempton Park, Africa. The role drives pre‑sales engineering, leads concept development for high‑value tenders, and ensures operational, safety and financial alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power engineering and/or renewable energy applications.
• Strong knowledge of power generation equipment and energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into practical, engineered solutions that are commercially viable and technically robust.
• Lead concept development and outline engineering for complex enquiries and tenders exceeding USD 10M.
• Provide technical expertise in customer meetings, delivering application overviews and technical sales training.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering to validate proposed solutions and build local capability.
• Advise Commercial teams on technical bid components, material specs and costing inputs.
