Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Development Scientist to lead chromatography-focused method development, validation, and transfer within an on-site Kimberley lab. You will work on drug substances and products, ensuring GMP/GLP-compliant workflows and high-quality data.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in a relevant field, 5+ years of pharma analytical experience, and expertise in HPLC/UPLC, GC, LC–MS. Collaboration with multiple teams and mentorship of junior staff are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical analytical development with focus on chromatography.
• Experience with HPLC/UPLC, GC, LC–MS, and method validation per ICH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate chromatographic methods for drug substances and products using HPLC, UPLC, GC, LC–MS, and GC–MS.
• Transfer validated methods to QC or other labs and support technology transfer.
• Design stability studies and characterize materials across life cycles.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and maintain quality control with GMP/GLP compliance.
• Mentor junior scientists and document all development activities clearly.
