Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist in Analytical Chemistry to join our R&D team. You will develop and validate analytical methods to characterize novel compounds and formulations, ensuring quality, purity and stability through rigorous testing.

You will work in a state-of-the-art lab, collaborate with chemists and formulation scientists, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry within a research or pharmaceutical setting.
• Expertise in chromatography (HPLC, GC) and various spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, IR, MS).
• Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet required specifications.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve method-related issues.
• Conduct stability studies and interpret data to determine product shelf-life.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports, summaries, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Mentor junior analytical chemists and provide technical guidance.
