Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with jet engine specialization based in Midrand, Gauteng. You will ensure airworthiness across a diverse fleet, lead a team of engineers and technicians, and drive safety and efficiency in all maintenance activities.

The role requires a recognised Aeronautical Engineering degree, a minimum of 7 years in aircraft maintenance with jet engines, and a valid EASA Part 66 or SA CAA AML license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in aircraft maintenance with focus on jet engines.
• Valid EASA Part 66 or SA CAA AML with relevant ratings.
• Strong knowledge of jet engine theory, maintenance, troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on jet engines and aircraft systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; implement solutions.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide activities.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians; provide guidance.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, parts, and labor hours.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Collaborate with flight ops to minimize downtime and optimize scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in root cause analysis of recurring issues and implement preventative measures.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in aircraft engine technology and maintenance practices.

Requirements

• A recognized Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in aircraft maintenance, with a strong focus on jet engines.
• Valid EASA Part 66 or SA CAA AML (Aircraft Maintenance Licence) with relevant ratings.
• Extensive knowledge of jet engine theory, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
