Job summary

e-Merge IT Recruitment is seeking a Senior AI Engineer for a Johannesburg-based role. You will design, develop and deploy production-grade AI solutions and lead Generative AI/LLM initiatives across data pipelines and enterprise integrations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own architecture and ensure scalable, secure, and compliant AI systems while leveraging Azure, C#, and .NET in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science or related field.
• 10+ years’ software engineering experience.
• 2+ years’ AI, ML, data or automation engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML and generative AI/LLM solutions.
• Experience designing data pipelines and data platforms.
• Strong API and enterprise integration experience.
• Proven experience taking solutions into production.
• Experience with Azure, C# and .NET.
• Strong CI/CD, DevOps or MLOps experience.

Responsibilities
