ATS Client in Johannesburg is seeking an AI Engineer who thrives at the intersection of product strategy, software engineering, and applied AI. This permanent hybrid role focuses on turning ambiguous business problems into scalable AI-powered solutions that deliver real-world value.
You will design and deploy AI workflows, integrate LLMs and vector databases, collaborate with engineers, and stay ahead of AI technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/AI or related engineering field.
- 3-6 years of software engineering or delivery experience.
- Proficient in Python or other modern languages.
- Experience deploying real-world software.
- Experience with LLMs and AI frameworks.
- Familiar with APIs, cloud platforms, databases.
- Experience with LangChain/LangGraph/CrewAI/AutoGen.
- Exposure to ML pipelines and MLOps practices.
- Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain AI-powered applications and agentic systems.
- Develop multi-step AI workflows and orchestration.
- Prototype and evolve solutions into production systems.
- Integrate LLMs, APIs, vector databases and external services.
- Create reusable AI frameworks and components.
- Collaborate with software engineers on architecture and design.
- Monitor AI system performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Stay current with AI technologies and industry trends.
