Placements24 is seeking an Actuarial Analyst for a hybrid role based in Sandton. You will develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and reserving, analyze data to assess risks, and collaborate with underwriting, finance, and risk teams.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, progress toward actuarial qualifications, and at least 3 years of actuarial experience in insurance, with proficiency in Prophet, GGY Axis, SQL, R, and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Progress toward or completion of actuarial qualifications (e.g., FSA, FIA, ASA).
• Minimum of 3 years of actuarial experience in the insurance industry.
• Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (Prophet, GGY Axis) and data analysis tools (SQL, R, Python).
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, reserving methods, and financial modeling techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Analyze statistical data to assess insurance risks and develop pricing strategies.
• Perform valuation of insurance liabilities and ensure regulatory reporting compliance.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of new insurance products.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and risk management to provide actuarial insights.
• Stay current with actuarial methodologies, software, and industry best practices.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
