Job summary

Number Two Piggeries in South Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will handle broad financial responsibilities, prepare monthly management accounts, VAT reconciliations, and support audits.

We offer a salary package of R40,000–R50,000 CTC per month and a senior, hands-on role in a growing operation. You will contribute to operational and commercial decision-making through strong accounting leadership.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Articles completed through SAICA, SAIPA or similar recognised body.
• 3–5 years’ post-articles experience in an accounting role with broad financial responsibility.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts, VAT reconciliations and audit support documentation.
• Sound working knowledge of IFRS and SA VAT requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a small team.

Minimum requirements

• BCom Accounting, Financial Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Completed articles through SAICA, SAIPA or a similar recognised professional body.
• At least 3–5 years’ post-articles experience in an accounting role with broad financial responsibility.
• Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts, VAT reconciliations and audit support documentation.
• Sound working knowledge of IFRS and South African VAT requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to meet demanding reporting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a small team.

Advantageous experience

• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, food production, abattoir or meat-processing environments.
• Experience with Abaserve and/or Xero.
• Exposure to stock, cost accounting, production-related reporting or operational finance.
