Placements24 seeks a Senior Accountant to lead Management Reporting from Upington, Northern Cape. The role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to deliver accurate monthly and quarterly financial insights. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements within a dynamic finance team.

Requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of related experience, and strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, with proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Pastel and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on management reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pastel) and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads.
• Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and internal policies.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
• Contribute to the optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff.
