Job summary

DO MORE Placements is seeking a Hybrid Senior Accountant in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and efficient month-end and year-end processes within a regulated financial services environment.

The candidate will handle budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, maintain the general ledger, and support audit activities. Hybrid work model with one WFH day weekly; strong Excel and accounting systems experience

Qualifications

• Completed articles completed and registered.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industry advantageous.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Understanding of accounting standards and statutory compliance.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Complete month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Prepare and review balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with financial-statement preparation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Prepare cash-flow reports and monitor banking transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain effective financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and provide relevant financial information.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects.
