Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for our Benoni office. You will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and IFRS compliance, ensuring accuracy and integrity of records.

The role requires a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA qualification (preferred), a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and 4–5 years in accounting, including 2 years in a senior role. SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and taxation.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other data for accuracy.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts and monitor performance against plans.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations.
