SA Metal at the Secunda branch is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead the Secunda security operations and report to the Security Manager. The role includes daily supervision of security officers, inspections, and access control to protect employees, clients and property.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum Grade 12, at least 3 years of supervisory experience in the Safety & Security sector, and PSIRA registration with Grade B. A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Group currently has a vacancy for a Security Supervisor to join the team at the Secunda branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the Secunda security operations. The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager. He/she will also have to:
Daily inspection of security officers and equipment
Maintain security standards
Conduct weekly searches and locker searches
Training security officers to ensure the safety of the company’s employees, clients and property
Deployment of security staff
Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems to Management
Ensuring discipline and standards are maintained
Ensure access and egress are controlled
Ensure that all gates are always manned
Ensure that all assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals
Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises
Ensure any item leaving SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
Ensure that all company rules, policies and procedures are always adhered to
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
At least 3 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector.
Driver’s license will be advantageous.
Registered with PSIRA – Minimum Grade B.
