About the Role
The Site Manager/Estate Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the security operations of a designated estate or facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors. This role focuses on the management and implementation of security protocols and the coordination of onsite staff, acting as a pivotal point of contact for both security and facility management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive security plans and protocols to ensure the safety of the estate.
- Supervise and train security personnel, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and improve security measures.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed for incident response and safety compliance.
- Monitor and manage security equipment and systems, ensuring they are fully operational and up to date.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, conducting investigations and preparing reports as required.
- Liaise with residents and stakeholders to address security concerns and promote a safe living environment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to security operations, incidents, and personnel.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security management, estate management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, risk assessment techniques, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the capacity to think critically under pressure.
- Competence in the use of security technology and systems, including surveillance equipment and access control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security management certification, such as PSIRA registration or similar credentials.
- Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Familiarity with South African security laws and regulations.
- Prior experience in managing security in residential estates or high-profile venues.
