Job summary

Cross Boarder Road Transport Agency is seeking a security leadership candidate to shape and oversee the national security strategy and unit plan. You will guide security developments across building and IT systems, manage personnel and external providers, and ensure vetting processes are executed in line with policy.

The role requires strategic thinking, knowledge of national security policy, and the ability to align security objectives with organizational goals while maintaining high safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of National Information Security Policy.
• Strong knowledge of MISS and MPSS.
• Knowledge of physical, personnel, document, communication and IT security.
• Knowledge of principles of security investigations.
• Information security strategy and management.

Responsibilities

• Input into the development of the security strategy and plan aligned with objectives.
• Contribute to the strategic plan for the Security Unit and annual reviews.
• Manage people and resources within the Security Unit.
• Oversee implementation of the security plan and any special tasks.
• Provide technical advice on security requirements for buildings and systems.
• Supervise outsourced security personnel to ensure compliance and high security standards.
• Administer vetting applications and monitor security providers.

Job description

The successful candidate will be expected, among others to:

• Provide input into the development of the business security strategy and plan that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives, including national security requirements.
• Provide input into the development, implementation and annual review of an overall strategic plan for the Security Unit.
• People and resources management
• Oversee and guide the implementation of the security plan as approved, including as appropriate any special tasks or projects requested by management.
• Provide technical advice on requirements and specifications for strengthening existing and new building security systems.
• Oversee the supervision of outsourced security personnel to ensure compliance with all security procedures in place and maintain a high standard of physical security.
• Ensure and facilitate the administration of vetting applications.
• Monitor and evaluate security service provider contracted by the Agency.
• Ensure that regular security inspections are conducted.
• Ensure security investigations are conducted in line with prescribed legislation and security breaches are managed accordingly.
• Oversee the development of controls to prevent unauthorised access and dealing with events threatening the security of the site (including Regional Offices).
• Liaise regularly with and the State Security Agency and ensure compliance with the MISS and MPSS.
