Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a Security Consulting Engineer with deep network security expertise and strong customer-facing consulting skills. You will lead projects, sometimes mentoring junior engineers, and oversee on-site support at client premises.

The role emphasizes delivering security solutions across large networks, including ISE, NGFW/ASA, Stealthwatch, and related technologies, with travel as required and a strong client liaison focus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of security experience, at least 8 in network security
• Experience troubleshooting internetworking in large-scale networks using Cisco security products
• Strong technical account liaison and customer consulting skills required
• Deep knowledge of Cisco security solutions: ISE, NGFW, Stealthwatch, ESA, ASA; routing & switching familiarity
• CCIE Security certification is preferred

About the job Security Consulting Engineer

Key purpose:

With a multifaceted workload and travel schedule, working as part of a dynamic and highly skilled team, the position offers exciting work for knowledgeable and experienced consulting engineers with strong network security expertise and developed customer-facing consulting skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Security CEs are encouraged to be able to take the lead role in projects, possibly managing less experienced engineers to ensure a successful outcome to the support project.
• Responsibility for delivery of subscription activities (direct support at the customer premises)
• Lead implementation of recommendations based on standard methodology, working on large infrastructures, and develop procedures to minimize service impact.
• Work as part of a team of highly skilled engineers working daily at the end customer premises to support its network infrastructure and representing our company.

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of security experience is mandatory of which at least 8 must be on network security as deep and primary technical focus.
• The candidate will possess experienced level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment using security products from Cisco and ideally, other vendors.
• Very deep technical account liaison and customer management / consulting skills are mandatory.
• The candidate must have a deep technical knowledge on supporting, solving and managing the following Cisco security solutions:
• Cisco ISE (migration from ACS to ISE, Wireless and Wired environments, profiling, posturing and integrations with other security solutions via pxgrid)
• Cisco NGFW (FTD and ASA software) for network Firewall and VPN.
• Other technologies such Stealthwatch, ESA, ASA and scripting are a plus.
• Expert level knowledge in network security including architecture and configuration of Cisco routers, firewalls and a wide range of security products is required.
• NCEs should be CCIE Security qualified.
• though security is the main focus, the engineer should have a strong knowledge and experience on Routing switching, MPLS and the new software define solutions (SDWAN and SDA)
