Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Senior Cisco Security Engineer in Cape Town to provide IT security and network infrastructure support across business units. You will monitor systems for cyber threats, ensure regulatory compliance and guide the deployment of new security technologies.

You will translate requirements into solutions, collaborate on complex infrastructure challenges, and perform tests to streamline operations while maintaining strong security controls and incident response

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Cisco networking tech, including firewall and VPN configuration, and security policy management.
• Experience in security architecture and design across apps, networks and OS levels.
• Knowledge of security audits, incident response, and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience with Cisco security policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure networks and systems to prevent cyber threats.
• Collaborate on complex infrastructure security and development problems.
• Perform incremental testing to streamline deployments and reduce errors.
• Coordinate with customers for security audit reports.
• Lead cohesive security architecture integrating hardware, software and people.
• Respond to security incidents with root-cause analysis and action plans.
• Implement strong security controls addressing vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
