Job summary

Marula Platinum Limited seeks a Survey Supervisor to oversee survey support activities for mining development and stoping operations. You will supervise teams, validate survey notes, and ensure compliance with legal requirements while establishing survey control and integrating data into mine planning systems.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of survey experience and proficiency in MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Surveying or NQF Level 6 equivalent or Advanced Survey Certificate is essential
• 3 Years survey experience is essential
• Computer literacy (MS Word & MS Excel) is essential
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such certificate.

Responsibilities

• Constructs survey plans for stoping and development operations
• Updates layouts on plans
• Determines areas to be surveyed
• Assigns survey tasks to survey teams members
• Checks and authorizes survey notes
• Ensures survey plans comply with legal requirements
• Establishes survey control and aligns drilling machines
• Uses instruments, takes readings to determine specified locations
• Conducts surveys to obtain data used in planning mining operations
• Drafts maps, drawings and creates a database of survey data including development layouts, production drill mark‑ups and miscellaneous layouts
• Updates relevant maps, drawings and databases with any amended information
• Assist with feasibility assessment, considering appropriate criteria
• Assists with project proposals, designs layout and picks-up of drill/blast and digging areas
• Directs and assist team members in use of electronic surveying equipment, systems, or other instruments to transfer surface survey positions and directions to underground areas and survey designated locations
• Computes survey and data, such as volumes of ore driving and connects underground passages to control direction and extent of mining operations

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To supervise incumbents performing support activities. Acquiring knowledge in the control and implementation of the survey function to ensure compliance and operational efficiency through executing surveying, data collection, analysis and reporting into information system for survey and valuation on the mine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
