Job summary

Vineyard, Oude Werf and Stellenbosch Hotels by Petousis in Newlands, Cape Town is seeking eight seasonal Kitchen Stewards on a fixed-term, hourly-paid basis. You will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness for dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas to support the culinary team and uphold safety standards.

Applicants should have matric, be available for mornings/evenings/weekends, and have a satisfactory criminal record.

Qualifications

• Matric required.
• Shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in a kitchen cleaning or scullery.
• Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the offence.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including floors, work areas, and storage spaces.
• Ensure an adequate supply of clean dishes, glassware, and utensils for service.
• Properly dispose of kitchen waste and maintain waste management systems.
• Store cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment safely according to regulations.
• Support kitchen staff by organizing and tidying up storage areas.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations always.
