Job summary

Splash Café Stewards at a renowned Cape Town hotel is hiring three Seasonal Stewards on a fixed-term contract to support our busy summer period.

You will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the Splash Café kitchen and service areas, ensuring utensils and equipment are clean, sanitised and ready for service while adhering to food safety standards.

Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, with hourly pay and a focus on teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Previous experience in a kitchen cleaning or scullery
• Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Splash Café kitchen, scullery, storage, and relevant service areas.
• Ensure an adequate supply of clean crockery, glassware, cutlery, and utensils is available throughout service.
• Assist with the proper disposal of waste and ensure waste areas are kept clean, organised, and hygienic.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Assist the kitchen and service teams by keeping work and storage areas clean, tidy, and organised during busy service periods.
• Adhere to all food hygiene, health and safety, and environmental standards at all times.

As we prepare for our busy summer season, we are looking to recruit Seasonal Stewards on a Fixed-Term Contract basis to join our Splash Café team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the Splash Café kitchen and service areas. This includes ensuring that all utensils, crockery, equipment, and work areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and readily available to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Café during peak seasonal periods.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
