Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Educational Psychologist for a leading independent school in Durban. You will support students’ academic, social, and emotional development, identify learning barriers, and provide evidence-based interventions within a nurturing, inclusive environment.

You will work closely with students, parents, and educators to promote well-being, resilience, and success, while using modern assessment tools and strategies to guide planning and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Psychology or related field.
• Registration with HPCSA as Educational Psychologist.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a school setting.
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments to identify learning difficulties, behavioral issues, and emotional challenges in students.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans and intervention strategies.
• Provide counseling and support services to students dealing with academic stress, peer relationships, and personal issues.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to provide guidance and strategies for supporting student development both at school and at home.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on child psychology and educational support.
