Job summary

Scatec seeks an experienced SCADA and Cybersecurity Engineer to lead cybersecurity compliance for renewable energy projects in Cape Town. You will assess vendor cybersecurity, align SCADA designs with IEC standards, and support execution teams across OT networks.

Qualifications

• B. Eng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in IC/OT environments.
• Certifications such as CCNA or GICSP are advantageous.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, IEC 62443/NIS2, OT security frameworks.
• Experience with industrial control systems and network protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3).

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce cybersecurity requirements for projects and vendors.
• Review SCADA designs for IEC and project compliance.
• Conduct vendor risk assessments and manage deviations.
• Specify minimum SCADA and network requirements.
• Perform supplier due diligence from a cybersecurity perspective.
• Support project teams on SCADA and cybersecurity aspects.
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements are implemented during execution.
• Review design change requests for deviations.
• Coordinate CFAT/CSAT activities.
• Assist in closeout towards TTO with SCADA & cybersecurity matters.
