Badger & Bird Talent is seeking a Senior Salesforce Data Architect to lead the data architecture from discovery to end-to-end design. The role bridges Salesforce environments with SAP core systems, affecting how major financial institutions operate.

You will design pipelines, engage with executives, and operate in a hybrid work model with strong WFH flexibility in South Africa's financial services landscape.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Banking, Finance, or Insurance (FSI) domains; deep regulatory and data knowledge.
• Combined data analysis with enterprise data modelling and architecture blueprinting.
• Hands-on experience navigating Salesforce data architectures and mapping to SAP models.
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into commercially sound recommendations for executives.

Senior Salesforce Data Architect

Location: Johannesburg / Cape Town (Hybrid / Strong WFH flexibility) Permanent: R950,000 – R1,350,000 per annum (Base package, negotiable based on tenure and scope) Contract: R600 – R850 per hour (Long-term specialist contract) Most data roles force you to choose between two frustrations: digging through data without the authority to build the solution, or designing architecture without touching the underlying insight. This role sits directly in the gap between the two. You will step into a high-visibility position within a premier financial services consultancy, connecting complex Salesforce environments with enterprise SAP core systems. You will not just report on data; you will design the technical blueprints, data pipelines, and architecture proposals that shape how major financial institutions operate.

What you bring to the table:

• 5+ years in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (FSI): Deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape, data structures, and operational realities of financial institutions.
• Dual Data & Architecture Capability: Proven track record running deep data analysis alongside enterprise data modelling, ETL design, and architecture blueprinting.
• Salesforce & SAP Exposure: Hands-on experience navigating Salesforce data architectures and mapping them back to core SAP models.
• Stakeholder Fluency: The ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, commercially sound recommendations for non-technical executives.

Exposure to Salesforce FSC, OmniStudio, TOGAF, or modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake) will put your application at the front of the queue.
