Job summary

Mayfly Agri in South Africa seeks an experienced B2B sales professional to grow the customer base in the Western Cape region. The role involves expanding product offerings, managing supply contracts, and driving sales budgets while delivering excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a National Senior Certificate, a marketing-related qualification is a plus, and at least 3–5 years in food manufacturing or related sectors. A valid driver’s license and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a National Senior Certificate.
• Marketing qualification or relevant tertiary qualification would be nice to have.
• 3+ years in a B2B sales environment.
• 3–5 years in food manufacturing/personal and homecare/animal feed industries.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the existing and new customer base within the prescribed territory.
• Grow existing customers' basket of products.
• Identify client needs and grow the product offering.
• Manage supply contracts with customers.
• Exceed sales budgets.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Report information to management verbally and in writing.
• Handle and manage all customer enquiries.
• Conduct cold calling activities.
• Promote and market the company's products positively at all times.
• Assist the Branch Manager with office administration.
• Demonstrate high self-discipline, confidentiality and initiative.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a National Senior Certificate; A Marketing qualification or any other relevant tertiary qualification would be nice to have
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a business-to-business sales environment
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in food manufacturing/personal and homecare/animal feed industry
• Sales experience in bulk supply and in food science will be advantageous
• Ability to work autonomously
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
• Proficient computer literacy

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and growing the existing and new customer base within the prescribed territory.
• Managing and growing existing customers' basket of products.
• Managing and growing the product offering by identifying client needs.
• Managing supply contracts with customers.
• Exceeding sales budgets.
• Providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Reporting all relevant information to management, both verbally and in writing.
• Handling and managing all customer enquiries.
• Conducting cold calling activities.
• Promoting and marketing the company's products in a positive manner at all times.
• Assisting the Branch Manager with office administration.
• Exercising a high degree of self-discipline, confidentiality and demonstrative initiative.
