Job summary

Gees Talent in South Africa is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to own the sales function within a well‑established packaging manufacturer. The role is hands‑on leadership, focused on growing the business through B2B sales, strong customer relationships and close collaboration with production.

You will lead and develop the sales team, drive new business, manage key accounts, quotations and forecasting, and monitor market activity to identify opportunities.

A well-established South African packaging manufacturer is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to take ownership of its sales function and drive the next phase of commercial growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who knows B2B sales, manufacturing and customer relationships - and who is equally comfortable developing a team, winning new business and working closely with production.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and develop the sales team to achieve agreed targets
• Drive new business development and grow market share
• Manage and grow key customer relationships
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline

• Work closely with Production and Procurement to deliver against customer requirements
• Monitor market and competitor activity and identify new opportunities

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, packaging or related production environment
• 3–5 years’ experience in flexible packaging, paper packaging or a closely related industry
• 3–5 years’ sales management / supervisory experience
• Proven track record in new business development and achieving sales targets
• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Experience managing key accounts, pricing, quotations and forecasting
• Strong leadership, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• A hands-on, proactive and results-driven approach

A relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Business, Commerce, Marketing, Manufacturing or a related field would be advantageous.
