Job summary

SGS South Africa is seeking a motivated learner for a Sales and Business Development Internship in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector. The role is based in Cape Town (Maitland) within the CRS division and offers exposure to client enquiries, subcontract laboratories, and development opportunities across Southern Africa.

The successful candidate will support quotations, databases, market research, and CRM activities while working with the CRS team to build new business opportunities

Qualifications

• This role requires a National Diploma or Degree in business, marketing, sales, commerce, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good administrative ability.
• Computer literacy including Excel, Word and Outlook; able to work independently or in a team.
• Attention to detail and customer service orientation; valid driver's license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with responding to client enquiries related to testing services.
• Source and engage suitable subcontract laboratories and service providers.
• Obtain quotations and lead times from laboratories and subcontractors.
• Support preparation and submission of customer quotations.
• Maintain laboratory and supplier databases and reports.
• Assist with lead generation and business development initiatives.
• Follow up on quotations and customer opportunities.
• Support customer relationship management activities.
• Conduct market research to identify potential customers and service opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal SGS lines to identify additional opportunities.
