Job summary

Morningstar is seeking a Data Consultant to drive Morningstar data in the South African market. You will lead relationships with asset managers and collaborate with global and local teams to deliver high-quality data analytics and insights.

The role involves ownership of data onboarding, SME input on RFPs, and coordinating with product and sales to meet client needs. You will monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, and serve as the voice of the local market to global teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the local investment management industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience in project management and relationship management.
• Significant experience in financial data roles.

Responsibilities

• Explain Data workflows, processes and methodologies to asset managers and clients.
• Own onboarding of new and complex data sets as we expand analytics quality.
• Collaborate with product, sales & support on RFPs and lead generation as the SME for data questions.
• Coordinate with Data & Development Centres and global teams to align priorities with local needs.
• Manage projects to enhance our database to meet industry and client changes.
• Analyze market trends and regulatory changes and liaise with associations to design data collection plans.
• Monitor competitor behaviour and opportunities to keep Morningstar ahead.
