Job summary

SS&C Technologies Holdings is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant in Bellville, South Africa. The role focuses on comprehensive oversight of fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across a diverse fund portfolio.

The candidate should be proactive in improving efficiency, leveraging technology, and implementing best practices to optimize workflows within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Investment Management, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in fund accounting, investment administration, or financial services.
• Experience with hedge funds, unit trusts, private equity, or pension funds is beneficial.
• Familiarity with investment systems such as HiPortfolio is an advantage.
• Knowledge of asset management environment, including financial markets and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Process journal entries to the general ledger, including income distribution journals.
• Calculate and report total expense ratios (TER) and total cost ratios (TCR).
• Analytical review of daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc work by the team.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to the investment ledger to ensure accuracy.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare trial balances, financial statements and investor reports.
• Ensure fund accounting processes comply with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Monitor fund compliance with investment mandates and regulatory limits.
• Communicate with fund managers, trustees, custodians, and clients on fund accounting matters.
• Assist in onboarding new funds and implementing process improvements.

What You Will Get To Do:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team at SS&C Administrative Services SA (PTY) LTD. This role involves comprehensive oversight of fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance for a diverse portfolio of funds.

We are also looking for a candidate that is proactive in their approach to identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our fund accounting processes. As well as implement best practices and leverage technology to improve workflows to maximise efficiency.
