You will lead operations, mentor teams, develop SOPs, and drive process improvements, with a strong background in hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy and a Pr. Eng. registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in production or operations, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Proven experience in optimizing chemical processes for mineral extraction and refining.
• Strong knowledge of hydrometallurgy and/or pyrometallurgy.
• Excellent understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Commitment to safety, health, and environmental best practices.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Experience with SPC is an advantage.
• Pr. Eng. registration is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day production operations within chemical processing units.
• Monitor process performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure their effective implementation.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and operators on process operations and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and integrity.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Prepare regular production reports, analyzing KPIs and suggesting strategic improvements.
• Participate in process safety management (PSM) and risk assessment activities.
