Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Head Rugby Development Officer to lead grassroots rugby development across the North West region, including Rustenburg. The role focuses on designing strategic initiatives, nurturing young talent, and expanding community engagement with schools, clubs, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will oversee program management, budgeting and reporting while traveling across the province in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or diploma in Sports Management, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in sports development, coaching, or program management with rugby focus.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for grassroots rugby development.
• Identify, recruit, and train talented young players with clear progression pathways.
• Design and deliver high-quality coaching programs for players and coaches at various levels.
• Establish and manage community rugby hubs and initiatives to boost participation.
• Foster relationships with schools, community groups, rugby clubs and stakeholders.
• Organize rugby festivals, tournaments and development camps.
• Monitor, evaluate and report program progress and outcomes to senior management.
