Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Sports Development Officer specializing in rugby to expand grassroots rugby in Polokwane and surrounding areas. You will design, implement, and manage development programs, identifying talent and creating pathways for players of all ages.

The role involves working with schools, clubs, and community groups to promote participation and sustainable growth in Limpopo. You will lead clinics, workshops, and events, ensuring safety and high standards while coordinating

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in sports management, coaching, or related field.
• Coaching qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sports development, coaching, or program management, preferably with rugby.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work with young people and diverse community groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for rugby development programs in Polokwane region.
• Organize and deliver coaching clinics, workshops, and training sessions for players and coaches.
• Promote rugby participation in schools and community centers across Limpopo.
• Identify and nurture talented young rugby players, providing pathways for further development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, rugby clubs, and local sports associations.
• Organize and oversee local rugby tournaments and festivals.
• Monitor and report on the progress and impact of development programs.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and best practices in all development activities.
• Assist in the promotion of the sport and recruitment of new participants.
