Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Rotating Machinery Engineer for our Vereeniging operations. The role covers specification, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps, turbines, compressors, and motors, with a hybrid work setup balancing office engineering duties and on-site field work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with rotating machinery (pumps, turbines, compressors, motors).
• Strong knowledge of machine dynamics, vibration analysis, and lubrication.
• Familiarity with API/ASME codes.
• Experience with condition monitoring and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, and select rotating machinery for various industrial applications.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of new equipment.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on rotating machinery failures and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to maintenance and operations teams.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
