About the Role

Our client, a luxury hotel situated in the beautiful region of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, is seeking a strategic and experienced Rooms Division Manager. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's accommodation operations, including the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Concierge departments, to ensure exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven ability to manage teams, control costs, and drive revenue growth. You will play a critical role in maintaining the hotel's reputation for quality and service excellence, ensuring guest satisfaction from arrival to departure in Nelspruit.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all operations within the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Concierge.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize room occupancy, revenue, and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation of all guest rooms and public areas.
• Lead, train, and motivate department heads and their teams to achieve departmental goals.
• Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Oversee inventory and procurement for rooms division supplies.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement service improvements to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest service throughout the hotel.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to staff.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 3 years in a senior role overseeing Front Office and/or Housekeeping.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving revenue.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Front Office operations, Housekeeping standards, and Yield Management.
• Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) and hotel operational software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest service and maintaining high standards.
• Familiarity with the tourism landscape in Mpumalanga is an asset.
