Job summary

BVi Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a Roads Geometric & Drainage Engineer to join the permanent team. You will contribute to planning, design and documentation of geometric road and drainage infrastructure, ensuring practical, cost-effective solutions and compliance with standards.

The role requires coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical input to project teams, and supporting the development of Feasibility and Design Reports as well as Tender

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant design experience in civil engineering.
• Experience in geometric road design.
• Experience in road drainage and stormwater design.
• Experience within the transportation infrastructure sector.
• Experience with urban, rural road and/or freeway design.

Responsibilities

• Undertake geometric design for urban roads, rural roads and freeways.
• Undertake road and stormwater drainage design for transportation infrastructure.
• Perform stormwater analyses and hydraulic calculations.
• Develop road alignments, profiles, cross-sections and design elements.
• Assist with intersections, access roads and road infrastructure design.
• Prepare and review drawings and construction documentation.
• Provide input into Feasibility Reports, Design Reports and Tender Documentation.
• Assist in Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Review designs for technical accuracy and compliance.
