Qualifications

• Registration with the SAGC as Professional Engineer Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor (Technologist) or Survey Technician
• National Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree in Engineering Surveying, Geomatics or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ engineering and construction surveying experience

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain construction survey control.
• Conduct ground line, verification and construction surveys.
• Set out and verify roadworks, drainage and related infrastructure.
• Interpret contract drawings and construction designs.
• Verify layer works, volumes, batter slopes and setting-out information.
• Develop and maintain Digital Terrain Models (DTMs).
• Perform volumetric calculations and quantity verification surveys.
• Import, analyse and validate survey and design data using appropriate software.
• Prepare survey records, verification reports and as-built information.
• Verify road reserve fence positions when required.
• Work with Resident Engineer, Contractor and Employer’s Representative.
• Provide mentoring and skills transfer to junior personnel.
